Letter of Recommendation from Ms. Christina Robertson;
7th Grade Science Teacher of Gerisch Middle School, Southgate Community Schools

To Whom It May Concern:

Kelsey Dahlen has been a student teacher in my seventh grade class from September 2010 to December 2010.  She has been part of a four-teacher team with 138 students.  Kelsey has been responsible for teaching 4 classes of 7th grade science.

During this time Ms. Dahlen has planned and implemented the daily homework, weekly quizzes and unit tests. Kelsey has successfully demonstrated her awareness of different learning styles and has adequately adjusted assignments to meet the varied needs of students. Her units were thoroughly prepared and implemented. She was successful in monitoring and adjusting to various schedule changes in order to complete it during her time of teaching.

Kelsey’s experience in Science included teaching a unit on the Periodic Table of Elements. She completed this unit using the textbook series and developing her own activities including a team competition based upon learning the names and symbols of the elements, real life examples of how the elements are used and culminating with team project of making element T-shirts.

Ms. Dahlen had very good attendance and was very punctual. She attended all the staff meetings and extra-curricular activities such as helping at various cross country meets and a Halloween Family Fun Night.  Kelsey also took the initiative and started an Ecology Club after school.  During this time she organized and planned a field trip to the Nature Center.

Kelsey possesses a positive and enthusiastic personality. She has a great rapport with the students she has worked with. She is well dressed, articulate, and always ready with a smile and a kind word. I have found that other team members have accepted her as a strong working member of our team and she has had a positive working relationship with each one of them, as well as with other staff members.

I am confident that Ms. Dahlen will be an asset to any staff that she works with. She is confident, knowledgeable, and has the desire to be the best teacher she can be.   I believe that she will continue to grow and become even more effective as a teacher with further opportunities. Please feel free to contact me for more information.

Sincerely,

Chris Robertson
